Kathleen Jane Evans Ash Memorial Fund

Kathleen Ash, wife of Society President William Ash and founding member of the Guitar Society in 1980, worked tirelessly to build the Society's concert series and establish education programs. In 1984 she created the Society's newsletter, Guitar Notes, and served as its editor until her death in January of 2009. Although Kathy preferred to work quietly behind the scenes, her practical insights, grant writing talents, thorough preparation and selfless support of others were a cornerstone of the Society's accomplishments. $10,000

Currently :
$10,000

The KJEA Memorial Fund was established in the spring of 2009 by the Society's Board of Directors to honor Kathy's many contributions, and to further the purposes she so cherished--bringing excellent classical guitar performance and education to St. Louis audiences and underserved children.

The fund is an internally-held restricted fund controlled by the Guitar Society Board of Directors in its collective capacity. It will only be used to carry out the cultural and educational goals as set out in the Society's corporate charter.

We invite you to make a tax-exempt contribution to the Fund. Unless anonymity is requested, all donors will be acknowledged on our website and in other appropriate contexts. Donors at the $100 level or above before or on December 31, 2009 will be acknowledged as Charter members of the Fund. Please help us meet our goal of $10,000 by December 31, 2009.

Donations may be made on this website (click here) or by mail. Please make checks out to the St. Louis Classical Guitar Society (Memo: KJEA) and send to:
