    HIGHLIGHTS: We listen to music of our first 2015-16 Seasonal Performer, Swedish guitarist JOHANNES MÖLLER, performing music of Agustin Barrios, Julio Regondi, Karel Craeyvanger, Heitor Villa-Lobos, and his own composition "Poem to a Distant Fire." Also announcing the evolution of our organizational structure, with new Board leadership, and our educators now working in St. Louis Public schools.

Recorded performances of the performers to open the Society's 2015-16 Season: Johannes Möller performs Introduction and Variations on a Theme from C.M. von Weber's opera " Der Freischütz," as well as the cadenza from the Concerto for Guitar and Small Orchestra by Heitor Villa-Lobos; Tanja and Darka Mirić perform Spanish Dance #2 of Enrique Granados, plus Micropieza #5 of Leo Brouwer; and assorted Brazilian music from the Brasil Guitar Duo, João Luiz and Douglas Lora.     Please note: This week's program is an encore presentation of the first episode of Inside Classical Guitar, first aired on May 6, 2013, with special guest Christopher Parkening! It aired prior to our 50th Anniversary Celebration on June 9 of that year. We play some of the legenday recordings of this best-known American guitarist, converse about his relationship to Andres Segovia, his devotion to the classical guitar, and find out the reasons for his decision to retire from the concert stage.
