    Highlights: Music of guitarist Richard Patterson and Friends: flutists Bettine Clemen and Viviana Guzman, and guitarists Stevan Pasero and Guillermo Rios. Music of Schubert, Saint-Saens, Villa-Lobos, and much music of Latin America arranged by Patterson and Passero.


  • January 6, 2014:

    Highlights: Starts with Greensleeves by the California Guitar Trio; then a Tribute to jazz guitar great Jim Hall, who passed away in December 2013. Program also includes music of G.F. Handel, performed by William Kanengiser; music of Heitor Villa-Lobos, performed by Fabio Zanon; and music of Richard Patterson with both Stevan Pasero and other members of the Festival of Four.


  • December 30, 2013:

    Highlights include Music for the New Yesar: Jubilation by Andrew York; Django and Nuages by Charlie Byrd and the Washington Guitar Quartet; Gypsy Flower by Mathew Dunne; a re-interpretation of the Adagio of Joaquin Rodrigo by 3Guitars3; and music from Crmen by Georges Bizet, performed by the Romero Family.


  • December 23, 2013:

    Highlights: Our Christmas Show, with music from "A Gift of Song" by Mason Williams, "Christmas Dreams" by Leona Boyd, "A Winter Soltice V" by George Winston, music from "A Heavenly Peace" by Doug Niedt, and from "Christmas Present" and "A Christmas Collection" by Gregg Miner, music for harp guitars and similar instruments. With a studio interview of St.Louis guitarist Kirk Hanser, and selections by him with flutist Candice Griffith.


  • December 16, 2013:

    Highlights: A look back twenty years to our production of "A Guitar Holiday" on cassette. Featuring Christmas holiday selctions by local guitarists Larry Bolles, Buddy Bruns, David Hammock, John McClellan, Jeffrey Noonan with mezzo-soprano Nancy Bristol, Bill Park, Rodney Stucky with mezzo-soprano Mary Henderson, and Bill Ash. With a studio visit and music selection from local guitarist Kirk Hanser.


  • December 9, 2013:

    Highlights: Theme is "Unusual Preludes to the Season." Beautiful music by Richard Patterson with Stevan Pasero; the Mark Small and Robert Torres Guitar Duo; The Washington Guitar Quartet with Charlie Byrd; the Guitar Duo of Michael Newman and Laura Oltman; and music from "A Christmas Collection" by Gregg Miner, with music for zithers, mandolins and the sitar.


  • December 2, 2013:

    Highlights include: The Holiday Stress Reduction Show! Beautiful, soothing music by the Patterson-Ware flute and Guitar Duo; Brad Richter, guitar, joined by cellist David Finkel; the guitar duo of Mark Small and Robert Torres, with oboe and cello; and music by Richard Patterson and Stevan Pasero from Milonga de Amor.


  • November 25, 2013:

    Highlights: A visit back in time to ensembles the Society has sponsored that were non-guitar collaborations. Music of
    soprano Ellen Hargis with Paul O'Dette on theory nd Andrew lawrence King on Baroque harp; Duo Fresco, with Brett Duebner, viola, and Chris Kenniff, guitar; the Cavatina flute/guitar Duo;  guitarist Norbert Kraft with harpsichordist Bonnie Silver; and Gao Hong, Chinese pipa, with Shubendra Rao, sitar.
     


  • November 18, 2013:

    Highlights include: This conclusion of the three-part Series on music recorded by and to be programmed by Croatian guitarist Ana Vidovic to perform on Saturday November 23, 8 pm at the Ethical Society. Music includes Allegro BWV 998 of JS Bach, Allegro from the Sonatina and Gates of Spain by Federico Moreno Torroba, Una Limosna por el Amor de Dios of Augustin Barrios, Asturias of Isaac Albeniz, and a recording by Segovia of the Allegro from Sonata in D, Opus 77, by Mario Castelnuovo Tedesco.
     


  • November 11, 2013:

    Highlights include:  We continue the Castles of Spain of Frederico Moreno Torroba, with the final seven as performed by Ana Vidovic; Bagatelles 1,4, and 5 by William Walton; Music of Croatian composer Stjepan Sulek, "The Troubadours Three": and concludes with three parlor gems by Francisco Tarrega.
