Week of March 26, 2018: The first of THREE programs featuring an unexcelled artist of his instrument: Cuban-born guitarist Manuel Barrueco! This week in ensemble with some other masterful artists. Tune in for this podcast and the next two weeks for some spectacular music making!
Week of March 19, 2018: We visit the American guitar virtuoso Jason Vieaux from the Cleveland Institute of Music, sampling from his Grammy-Award-Winning album "Play." Tune in for a selection of classicl guitar favorites!
Week of March 12, 2018: John Schneiderman plays music of French guitarist Napoleon Coste (1805 – 1883). A student of Fernando Sor, Coste was famous for his unique seven string guitar with a “floating” 7th string typically tuned to D or C called the Lacote Heptachord. Tonally this invention created more depth when played as the floating string would vibrate sympathetically even as the other strings were plucked.
